I am the founding Audience and Engagement Journalist at the Flatwater Free Press, where I work across reporting, development, visuals and design teams. My goal is to make investigative reporting accessible and engaging for digital-first audiences to increase journalistic impact.

Many investigations don't have obvious visuals. Part of my role is to conceptualize and produce photo illustrations to assist in storytelling, such as this piece that accompanied a story about the Nebraska Legislature's role in data-center power debates.

Journalists know the value of the resources they create. Audiences often don't. I create video explainers to guide readers through the 'how' and 'why' of our proprietary databases to maximize their use.

As a FAA-certified drone pilot, I help our newsroom visualize complex stories. This slider asset shows the scale of the Tyson Foods plant closure in Lexington, Neb., using two parking lot drone photos.
